OLYMPIAS STORY
An architectural masterpiece comes back to life in Athens City Center. The six-story building is a testament to history, as it was built by architect Filippos Oikonomou in 1921, exactly a century ago, and operated as a hotel from 1927 to 1964. An example of transitional modernism in an abstract morphological style, interspersed with neo-Byzantine elements, arches and pilasters of openings, the architectural jewel remained deserted for decades, radiating the glamor of another era, when hospitality served a set of meanings. Today, the historic Hotel Olympias is coming back to life as the must-visit rooftop all-day bar.
